Three scientific event projects prepared by academics from Kastamonu University have been deemed eligible for support under the TÜBİTAK 2223-B Domestic Scientific Event Organization Support program.
Within the scope of TÜBİTAK support, the "Digital Citizenship Workshop in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," conducted by Lecturer Dr. Berkan Güngör at the Technology Transfer Office; the "12th International Symposium on History Education (ISHE)," conducted by Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, Vice Rector and Director of the Graduate School of Education; and the "Digital Recruitment and New Generation Career Management Workshop for Engineering Students," conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Karakulle from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was included in the support program.
The three scientific events address current topics, including artificial intelligence, digital citizenship, digital recruitment, new generation career processes, history education, and the history of education. The events aim to contribute to the sharing of scientific knowledge and experience by bringing together academics, students, researchers, and field experts.
Workshop on Digital Citizenship in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The "Digital Citizenship Workshop in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," conducted by Lecturer Dr. Berkan Güngör, will be hosted by our University on November 12-13, 2026.
The workshop will address the concept of digital citizenship along with the impacts of artificial intelligence technologies on daily life, education, and communication. The workshop will evaluate topics such as individuals' rights and responsibilities in digital environments, the conscious, safe, ethical, and responsible use of artificial intelligence, digital security, access to information and information evaluation, and the protection of personal data.
The workshop will also address the various aspects of the opportunities and risks created by artificial intelligence technologies.
12th International History Education Symposium
The 12th International Symposium on History Education (ISHE), supported by TÜBİTAK 2223-B and conducted under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakçı, was held from September 1-3, 2026, within the Graduate School of our University.
At the symposium, attended by expert academics and researchers from both domestic and international backgrounds, papers were presented on historiography, historical studies, history education, and the history of education in Türkiye. Additionally, workshops on history education and related fields were conducted as part of the program.
In addition to the presentations by invited speakers and panelists at the symposium, current studies and approaches in the field of history education were discussed with contributions from researchers from different universities.
Next-Generation Career Management for Engineering Students
Assoc. Dr. İsmail Karakulle will conduct the "Digital Recruitment and Next Generation Career Management Workshop for Engineering Students" on October 26-28, 2026.
In the workshop organized for engineering students, primarily from universities in the TR82 Region, topics such as digital recruitment practices, employers' candidate evaluation processes, career planning, and professional visibility in the digital environment will be addressed.
The workshop aims to inform engineering students about the changing recruitment processes and career management, to help them better understand the expectations of the digitalizing business world, and to provide them with new perspectives on career planning.
