The project titled "The Metabolic and Neurobiological Effects of Nighttime Blue Light Exposure: Investigation of the Possible Protective Role of Propolis in an Experimental Rat Model," led by Dr. Instructor Member Mücahit Muslu from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Kastamonu University Faculty of Health Sciences, has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module.
In the 12-month project, Research Assistants Kadriye Elif İmre and Sümeyye Begüm Atalan from the Faculty of Health Sciences, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Terzi from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will serve as a researcher.
In the project, while the metabolic and neurobiological effects of exposure to blue light at nigth are being examined, the possible protective effects of propolis will be evaluated thru scientific methods using an experimental rat model. It is intended that the findings from the research will contribute to the field of basic sciences and provide scientific data for preventive health practices.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, who evaluated the subject, congratulated the academics conducting the project and stated that the support provided by TÜBİTAK is gratifying in light of the high-quality scientific research carried out at our University.
