The National Equestrian and Coaching Core Education Program-2026 (UÇEP-EQUESTRIAN 2026), to which Kastamonu University has made an academic contribution, has been published by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) Education-Teaching Department.
With contributions from 14 universities, including ours, a common educational framework has been created for associate degree programs in equestrian and coaching across Türkiye.
As of the 2025-2026 academic year, the educational contents, professional competencies, and implementation processes of programs conducted in 14 higher education institutions were evaluated and addressed within a common framework.
Kastamonu University also contributed to the core training program, which was prepared for the first time in Türkiye in the field of equestrianism and coaching, with its academic knowledge and experience.
UÇEP-EQUESTRIAN 2026 is structured over four semesters and a total of 120 ECTS credits. In the program prepared in accordance with the Bologna Process, the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), and the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework, it is envisaged that the weight of elective courses should be at least 25%.
Within the scope of the program, it is aimed for students to gain professional knowledge and skills in the fields of horse breeding, care and feeding, equestrianism, training, competition preparation, horse business management, horse health and welfare, and occupational health and safety.
The program includes field applications in equestrian clubs, racetracks, breeding farms, horse breeding farms, and sports equestrian centers, in addition to the university's application areas for practical training.
