Established with TÜBİTAK support within Kastamonu University, the National Technology Workshop (MTA) continues its educational, production, and promotional activities in line with the vision of the National Technology Movement.
On January 23, 2026, the workshop, whose technical capacity and advanced technology equipment were introduced to the academic staff during the informational meetings, entered an intensive activity period both on the central campus and in the districts as of February.
Within the scope of the promotion marathon held on February 10-11, over 400 students were directly reached through 7 separate presentations organized specifically for the faculties. In the presentations, information on the workshop's technical facilities and project development processes was shared.
Aiming to combine theoretical education with practice, the workshop also hosted its first laboratory applications on February 9. Engineering and Forest Industrial Engineering students conducted practical sessions of R&D, innovation, and measurement technique courses using the workshop's infrastructure.
Educational activities were not limited to the central campus. Thanks to the digital connections established for students in the Vocational Schools across 12 university districts, online presentations were conducted, and technology-focused work was carried beyond campus boundaries.
Within the scope of the TEKNOFEST Project Writing Trainings organized during this process, over 80 students were trained on project preparation, reporting, and evaluation criteria on February 4th, and more than 60 students were trained on the same topics on February 13th.
On the other hand, the workshop quickly gained significant interest across the university. Currently, a total of 263 people have visited the workshop, including 149 academics, 65 students in 30 teams, and 84 individual students, engaging in project development and work activities.
The National Technology Workshop continues its activities within the scope of Science and Technology Week from March 8-14. In this context, on March 12 at 14:00, a presentation titled "First Step into the World of Turkish Natural Language Processing" will be given by Assist.Prof.Dr. Atilla Suncak. Additionally, on Saturday, March 14, the Open Workshop Days will be held, giving university students and participants interested in technology the opportunity to closely explore the workshop's facilities.
Continuing its work under the motto "Aim – Develop – Design," the National Technology Workshop serves as a center that contributes to scientific production, innovative projects, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem at our University.
