The "Environmental Truck," launched as part of the "Green Campus Festival" organized by the Turkish Environmental Agency under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to raise awareness among young people about environmental issues, met with students from Kastamonu University.
With the slogan "We are on the road for the environment, we stand by the youth," the Environmental Truck, which travels from city to city, made a stop at our University. The event, held in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture's Parking Area, was closely followed by students throughout the day.
Contents on topics such as zero waste, recycling, the Deposit Management System, protection of the marine ecosystem, and a sustainable future were conveyed to students through both informative and practical activities.
In addition to explanations from expert teams in their fields, students had the opportunity to gain direct experience with environmentally conscious living practices through interactive applications.
Among the booths set up in the event area, the recycling glass workshop particularly stood out. In the workshop where a master transformed waste glass into souvenirs, products personalized according to the students' requests were distributed free of charge. This application has demonstrated that recycling can produce not only environmental but also aesthetic and economic value.
In activity areas such as the gift wheel, virtual reality experience, and exchange stand, students not only had a great time but also gained awareness of eco-friendly habits they could apply in their daily lives. Especially the content that raises awareness about the marine ecosystem through virtual reality experiences received interest from the participants.
