The "Joint Master's Program in Contemporary Turkish Languages and Literatures," planned to be conducted between Kastamonu University and Karaganda Buketov University in Kazakhstan, has been approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Our university's application dated November 14, 2025, was evaluated at the YÖK Executive Board meeting on November 26, 2025, and deemed suitable for opening a joint program.
The program, developed to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities, encourages joint research and fosters cultural interaction, aiming to benefit a large number of students.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the approval granted by YÖK is a development that contributes to our University's internationalization process. In his statement, our rector said:
This joint master's program, which we are conducting in collaboration with Karaganda Buketov University, is a valuable partnership that brings together the cultural and scientific heritage of the Turkic world at an academic level. We will offer our students who wish to specialize in the field of Contemporary Turkish Languages and Literatures the opportunity to benefit from the academic resources of both universities. Emphasizing that the program will support the mobility of both students and faculty, our Rector stated, "Such international joint programs contribute to the development of our University's scientific capacity while offering our students an international educational environment."
