The closing meeting of the project titled "Supporting Sustainable Rural Development with the Home Boarding Training Module and Developing a Digital Eurasian Cookbook," supported within the framework of Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Adult Education, led by Kastamonu University, was held on December 9, 2025, at the Guesthouse.
The 24-month project, which received a total of 250,000 Euros in support, concluded with an event program that included the promotion of project outputs, the presentation of participant certificates, and evaluations of the project process.
In addition to our university, the project, a collaboration between the University of Benevento Sannio in Italy, the University of Seville in Spain, and the University of Stavanger in Norway, saw 1,000 trainees participate in the Online Home Accommodation training module and receive certificates. Additionally, 80 local food recipes were added to the system as part of the project.
The meeting was attended by Project ManagerAssoc.Prof. Dr. Nagihan Çakmakoğlu Arıcı, as well as numerous academics, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and students.
The meeting, which began with a moment of silence followed by the reading of the Turkish National Anthem, was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nagihan Çakmakoğlu Arıcı, Project Manager.
Associate Professor Dr. Çakmakoğlu Arıcı highlighted the project's contribution to regional development, stating that it has developed a viable training module for home-based hospitality and recorded the cultural gastronomy heritage on a digital platform.
Additionally, Associate Professor Çakmakoğlu Arıcı emphasized that they are very concerned about empowering the local population for the sustainable development of rural tourism and highlighted their happiness in sharing the study's results.
As part of the event, certificates were presented to the participants involved in the project process. The event concluded with a meal program and a photo shoot to commemorate the day.
