Within the framework of the "4 Cities 4 Places 4 Akif" Symposium organized under the auspices of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the role of the National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy during the National Struggle years and his traces in Kastamonu will be discussed. The session titled "Courage and Kastamonu Days in Mehmet Akif Ersoy" will be held on April 30, 2026, hosted by Kastamonu University.

In the program to be held in the Sezai Karakoç Hall of the Central Library, the place of Mehmet Akif Ersoy in the struggle for independence, his intellectual world, and the strategic importance of Kastamonu in the National Struggle process will be evaluated within an academic framework.  

In the session, the historical mission undertaken by Kastamonu during the National Struggle period, as well as the impact of the sermons delivered by Mehmet Akif Ersoy at the Nasrullah Mosque on society, will also be discussed.
