The project titled "Examining Social-Emotional Learning Skills in Science at the Level of Achievement and Activity," led by Dr. M. Said Doğru, a faculty member of the Araç Rafet Vergili Vocational School of Higher Education at Kastamonu University, has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 2224-B Domestic Scientific Events Participation Support Program.
In the project, it will be addressed how teacher candidates develop social-emotional learning (SEL) skills such as empathy, self-awareness, collaboration, and responsible decision-making in science education. It is aimed to present the prepared activity examples in a practical manner at a national-level scientific event. The study aims to raise awareness of the integration of social-emotional learning with science education and to promote the widespread adoption of practices in this field.
Expressing his satisfaction with the support of the project by TÜBİTAK, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal made the following comments:
"Social-emotional learning is a holistic approach in today's educational understanding that aims not only to transfer knowledge but also to develop individuals' emotional and social skills.
