The research project titled "The Role of Sustained Attention in the Effect of Replay Speed and Fluency Disorders in Educational Videos on Students' Learning Processes," led by Assoc. Dr. Arif Akçay, a faculty member of the Faculty of Education at Kastamonu University, has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module. 

Within the scope of the project to be conducted in the field of educational technologies, the impact of the video speed-up behavior frequently preferred by students in educational videos commonly used in online learning environments, as well as the fluency disruptions that occur during lesson delivery, on learning processes, will be examined using scientific methods. 

In the study, the role of sustainable attention levels, one of the individual differences among students, will also be evaluated, and its effects on learning performance will be revealed. 

The research team of the twelve-month project includes Dr. Zeynep Piri and Research Assistant Dr. Kadir Coşkun. In addition to contributing to the scientific knowledge base on the use of educational videos, the project's findings aim to support the development of digital learning materials tailored to students' cognitive characteristics. 

Providing evaluations on the subject, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that he was pleased with the support for the scientific research conducted at our University within the framework of national support programs. Our Rector congratulated the academics involved in the project, stating that the project, which was deemed worthy of support by TÜBİTAK, would contribute to our University's research activities. 

Our rector also thanked the President of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Higher Education Council for their support of scientific research in higher education, and Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın, the President of TÜBİTAK, for the contributions to university projects.
