The project titled "The Mediating Role of Dietary Inflammatory Load in the Relationship Between Homocysteine Levels and Cognitive Performance in Elderly Individuals," was conducted by Assist.Prof.Dr. Fatmanur Hümeyra Zengin, a faculty member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Kastamonu University, has been granted support under the 1002-A Rapid Support Module conducted by TÜBİTAK.
In the project, Assist.Prof.Dr. Tuğba Tatar from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Assist.Prof.Dr. Davut Döner from the Faculty of Medicine, and Res. Assist. Bersu Nur Hacıfettahoğlu from the Faculty of Health Sciences will serve as a researcher.
Within the scope of the research, it is aimed to examine the relationship between homocysteine levels and cognitive performance in elderly individuals and to reveal the possible mediating role of dietary inflammatory load in this relationship. It is expected that the findings will contribute to scientific studies aimed at preserving cognitive health in old age.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, congratulated the academics conducting the project and stated that the support for scientific research activities enhances our University's research capacity.
