The Kastamonu University Social Responsibility Projects Office (Social Office) supported social responsibility projects themed "Artificial Intelligence" in May 2025, helping students and academics from different faculties turn their innovative ideas into practice.
Among the supported projects, there were a wide range of works, such as social awareness, improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, disaster management, and digital transformation in gastronomy.
Adem Balcı, a student from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, aims to produce effective visual content on social issues with his project titled "Social Awareness Workshop with AI-Supported Design Tools: Canva Application." From the same faculty, Batuhan Aktaş aims to facilitate access to technology for visually and hearing-impaired individuals with his study titled "Introducing Disabled Individuals to Artificial Intelligence Tools: Speechify and Google Lookout Applications."

Zeynep Pusmaz demonstrates with her project titled "Artificial Intelligence Workshop for Social Benefit: An Application for Housewives" how AI-based digital tools can enhance the social and economic participation of housewives.
Academics also contributed to the process with their projects. The project "Digital Transformation in Gastronomy: AI-Supported Creative Presentation Workshop," led by Research Assistant Dr. Demet Güner from the Faculty of Tourism, aims to provide students with an innovative perspective on the use of artificial intelligence applications in the field of gastronomy.
Asist. Prof. Dr. Rukiye Koçkar from Abana Sabahat Mesut Yılmaz Vocational School aims to investigate the effects of artificial intelligence-supported educational materials on student success with her project titled "Artificial Intelligence-Supported Education for Students: The Path of Smart BRICK and Ethical Learning."
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, emphasized the importance our University places on projects compatible with artificial intelligence technologies, stating the following:
"Today, artificial intelligence is not just a technological advancement; it also offers transformation opportunities in social, economic, and cultural fields." We are pleased that both our students and academics at our university are producing projects that keep pace with this change and have a high level of social responsibility. To systematize our work in this field, we have also established the Artificial Intelligence Studies Coordination Office. With the support of the Social Office in this area, we aim to contribute more to our University's scientific productivity and societal contribution vision.
