Hosted by Kastamonu Technopark, technoparks operating in the TR81, TR82, and TR83 regions came together in Kastamonu to foster regional cooperation and establish a shared vision.
The "Specialization-Focused Technopark Model Development Workshop," supported by the Kastamonu University Scientific Research Projects Coordination and led by our university's Lecturer Dr. Zuhal Arife Küçük, brought together technopark managers from the region on the same platform. The program, which began with the opening speech by Prof. Dr. Alperen Kaymakcı, addressed the current status of technoparks on a regional scale and made assessments of common problems. In this context, ideas were exchanged regarding potential studies to increase the commercial capacity of companies operating in technoparks.
During the workshop, joint activities that could be carried out in line with the regions' areas of expertise were discussed. Within the framework of university-industry cooperation aimed at increasing the number of specialized firms and facilitating investor access, steps that can be taken were evaluated, and a calendar for investor meetings and demo day events was created.
The meeting also discussed the processes to be followed for products developed by companies operating in technoparks under intellectual and industrial property rights (IPR), as well as issues related to the development of interregional project partnerships.
In addition to the Kastamonu Technopark team, general managers and deputy general managers from the technoparks of Bartın, Çankırı, Çorum, Karabük, Samsun, Sinop, Tokat, and Zonguldak participated in the workshop. During the day-long workshop, suggestions for the R&D and innovation ecosystem were discussed, with the aim of increasing knowledge and experience sharing among technoparks, encouraging joint projects, and identifying concrete steps to contribute to regional development.
