The meeting of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH 2025 international project titled "Cultivating Peaceful Communities: Non-Violent Communication via Gamification," led by Kastamonu University, was held.
On March 30, 2026, in the Erasmus Welcome Center located within the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Cultural Center, the project partners met face-to-face for the first time.
The project, which aims to develop non-violent communication skills through gamification, targets the preparation of new learning materials for teachers, students, and educational stakeholders, as well as the creation of a peaceful school culture.
In the project with a total budget of 250,000 euros, Arte e Cultura Sociale (Italy), Kohtla-Järve Iidla Põhikool (Estonia), Nextstapp UG (Germany), Associação de Jardins-Escolas João de Deus (Portugal), and the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of National Education are involved.
While representatives from the partner countries attended the meeting, the project team from Kastamonu University Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Selman Tunay Kamer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Rıfat Kayış and Assist.Prof.vDr. Burcu Karabulut Coşkun was also present.
During the meeting, the project's objectives, work packages, task distribution, and future training activities were discussed, and experience sharing among the partner institutions took place. It was stated that various activities aimed at developing non-violent communication skills would be implemented within the scope of the project. It was emphasized that Erasmus+ projects contribute to the internationalization of universities and to the importance of international collaborations.
It was also noted that such projects contribute to increased interaction across cultures, the sharing of best practices, and the development of a culture of collaboration.
