The utility model titled "Sacral Area Heated Massage Vest for Labour," invented by Research Assistant Demet Güney from the Department of Midwifery at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Health Sciences, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülay Yılmaz from Istanbul-Cerrahpaşa University, as a co-inventor, has been registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
This vest, developed to alleviate the pain women experience during labour and enhance birth comfort, aims to reduce stress during labor, shorten the duration of childbirth, and provide a more positive birth experience by combining heat application and massage.
This wearable technology's changeable massage modes allow the user to modify the massage speed and application region based on the severity of their discomfort, making a scientific and technical addition to the delivery experience.
