The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office has registered a patent called "Production of Mo5SiB2-SiC Composite Material for High-Temperature Applications by Powder Metallurgy Method," which was invented by Prof. Dr. Serkan Islak, who teaches at Kastamonu University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
It was noted that the patent obtained as a result of the application made in 2022 offers a method that will contribute to the production of high-temperature-resistant materials, particularly for use in the aviation, energy, and defense industries.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, commented on patent registration, saying that our university's faculty members' scientific research adds value. Stating that this patent obtained by Prof. Dr. Islak will contribute to both our University's research and development vision and its understanding of applied science for industry, our Rector said that they will continue to support academics in such studies. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Serkan Islak. He also thanked YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak for their support of R&D studies.
