Kastamonu University has achieved another significant success in line with its vision of internationalization. In the 2025 application period, the KA131 and KA171 projects prepared under Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Mobility of Individuals were deemed worthy of support and accepted by the Turkish National Agency.
Within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA131 project, our university has been awarded a grant of 388,210.00 euros. With this budget, a total of 157 mobility activities will be carried out, including 60 students for study, 32 students for internships, 34 academic staff for teaching, and 31 administrative/academic staff for training. With a project that showed an increase of 105,430 Euros compared to 2024, our university ranked 40th among the 268 universities/institutions that applied nationwide in terms of grant amount.
First in Türkiye for Staff Mobility Notably standing out in terms of staff mobility,
Kastamonu University became the first in Turkey with 65 mobilities under the KA131 project. Fırat University and İzmir Katip Çelebi University had 52 and 51 mobilities, respectively. Within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 project, partnership applications with a total of 12 countries, including the United States, Nepal, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Palestine, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, were accepted, and a grant of 87,448.00 euros was provided. This project will facilitate student and staff exchanges with partner universities in these countries. Additionally, it is planned to carry out mobility to the United States for the first time.
Our university, which ranked 14th among 115 universities that applied under KA171 last year, ranked 26th among 144 applications this year. Considering that the highest KA171 grant amount awarded in Turkey this year is 141 thousand euros, the performance of Kastamonu University is regarded as a significant achievement.

In his evaluation on the subject, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that the successes achieved within the scope of the Erasmus+ programs are a concrete indicator of the university's internationalization strategy.
Our rector said, "With these achievements, we continue to offer our students and staff international experience opportunities." Our being first in Turkey in personnel mobility shows how strong our goal is to increase the global interaction of our academic staff. "I thank all the academic and administrative staff who contributed to this process."
Our rector also stressed the importance of Erasmus+ programs in expanding the university's recognition, as well as interacting with diverse cultures and enriching intellectual variety.
