The "2025 UNIDES Projects Evaluation Report," prepared by the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports at Kastamonu University, has been published.
In the report, the projects carried out by the student communities operating within our university under the UNIDES program, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2025, and the goals for the upcoming period were discussed.
The ÜNİDES program, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aims to enhance the project development capacities of student communities and promote the more effective use of youth centers and youth offices. Data from the four call periods conducted in 2025 revealed that student projects at our University are being carried out in a planned and sustainable manner.
According to the report, in 2025, 91 of the 175 student clubs active at our University qualified for support, totaling 124 projects.
In the period covered by the 2025 results, our University achieved significant successes. According to the results of the 4th period of the ÜNİDES, our University ranked 3rd nationwide in Turkey with 44 accepted projects. In the results of the 5th period applications, the university achieved great success, ranking first among universities with the highest number of accepted projects in Türkiye.
The Animal Husbandry and Wildlife Student Community received the most support, with four projects, while the Design, Software Development, Technopolis, Forest Industry and Innovation, and International Trade and Logistics communities each stood out with three projects. The projects were implemented in 11 different thematic areas: disaster management and resilience, family and values, science and technology, environment and climate, education and lifelong learning, youth information, youth health and sports, volunteering, youth participation and civil society, employment and entrepreneurship, social inclusion, and international youth work.
As of the fall semester of 2025, under the updated support amounts, grant support can be provided up to 75,000 TL for local projects and up to 125,000 TL for national projects.
The report also included the goals for the upcoming period. In this context, it is planned to spread the project culture to all student communities, to ensure that each community submits at least one project application per year, to create a mentorship model where experienced communities guide newly established or previously unsupported groups, and to ensure more active participation of academic advisors in the processes.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his evaluation of the report, stated that the project-based work approach is becoming increasingly widespread at our University. Our Rector, noting that student communities are not just structures that organize social events but have also become organizations capable of successfully carrying out planning, implementation, and reporting processes, said that the 2025 data clearly demonstrates this transformation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the continued increase in our students' productivity, our Rector thanked all students, academic advisors, and the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports for their contributions to the project. Additionally, he stated that the supported projects aim to benefit not only the university but also society as a whole, and expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, for their contributions.
