The Animal Husbandry and Wildlife Society, operating within Kastamonu University, achieved second place in Türkiye at the ÜNİFEST University Student Societies Social Contribution Project Festival.
The works selected from the 5,822 projects carried out throughout 2025 within the scope of the University Student Communities Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES), conducted by the General Directorate of Youth Services of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, were presented in the final program of the ÜNİFEST, held from May 5 to 8, 2026. The festival was hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
In the process, approximately 400 university projects across Türkiye were evaluated, and 100 were qualified to participate in the final program. Our university's Student Projects and Competitions Coordination also participated in the festival on behalf of student communities.
Representing our university, the Animal Husbandry and Wildlife Society became the second in Türkiye with their project "Be the Hero of Your Own Story," which was evaluated under the theme of "Social Development."
The festival program was also attended by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, the Rector of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Enes Eminoğlu, and General Director of Youth Services Dr. Enes Efendioğlu.
The community's academic advisor, Instructor Abdullah Şimşek, stated that since its establishment, the community has been engaged in various social responsibility and youth activities, and he expressed that students have taken active roles in volunteer-based activities.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the achieved ranking is significant given the work carried out by student communities and congratulated the students, community advisors, and the Student Projects and Competitions Coordination Office for their contributions.
