Kastamonu University ranked 4th nationally in the 5th term applications for the University Student Communities Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES), which is carried out by the General Directorate of Youth Services of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
A total of 3,764 project applications were submitted to the program, which was attended by student communities from all 81 provinces across Turkey. Our university students, with 141 projects, ranked high in the standings.
Applications for the 5th term of UNIDES, which will be implemented in two phases during the 2025-2026 period, were accepted online via the e-genc.gsb.gov.tr address between September 16 and October 15, 2025. Projects that are eligible for support in the new period will receive financial assistance of up to 75,000 TL at the local level and up to 125,000 TL at the national level.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that this result achieved by the students is satisfactory, adding:
The 141 applications received for the ÜNİDES program demonstrate our students' sense of social responsibility and their desire to generate innovative ideas. We encourage our youth to think, create, and contribute to society. Ranking 4th overall in Turkey is a testament to the efforts of our students and the effectiveness of our University in this field. I would like to thank all our students, our advisor academics, and the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports for their contributions to this process. "
Our Rector also stated that the supported projects aim to generate benefits for the university and the community as a whole, and thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, for their support.
