Student admissions are now open for the joint master's program launched under the cooperation protocol signed by Kastamonu University and Karaganda Buketov University, one of Kazakhstan's established higher education institutions. The program was deemed appropriate and officially recognized following evaluations conducted by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).
The "Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures Master's Program with Thesis," launched within the Graduate School of Education, was designed as an international postgraduate education model that brings together the academic expertise of two universities. Within the scope of the program, students will receive education under the guidance of expert academics in their fields; joint courses, academic advisory processes, and research activities will be conducted in collaboration between the two universities.
The program in question aims to increase academic research on Turkish dialects, literature, and cultural heritage, enhance scientific collaboration with the Turkish world, and support interdisciplinary research. In this context, the program is expected to contribute to academic studies aimed at the Turkish world, particularly in Türkiye and Kazakhstan.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated in his evaluation of the matter that the YÖK approval represents a development in our University's internationalization efforts. Our rector stated that the joint master's program conducted with Karaganda Buketov University would also contribute to the development of academic relations between the two universities and the conduct of joint scientific activities.
Emphasizing that joint graduate programs encourage scientific production and enhance academic interaction, our Rector noted that through this program, students will have the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of both universities. It was stated that the program would lay the groundwork for the presentation of qualified thesis studies and the development of new research areas.
Our Rector, noting that efforts to diversify international collaborations are ongoing, thanked YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, YÖK members, and all stakeholders who contributed to the process.
