The Higher Education Council (YÖK) prepared data for the "University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report 2024," which shows that Kastamonu University achieved great success in the number of projects supported by TÜBİTAK, ranking 9th nationwide. In the first place on the list, Yıldız Technical University had 1,434 projects, followed by Ege University with 1,319 projects in second place and Gazi University with 1,150 projects in third place.
In the TÜBİTAK National and International Project Count category, Kastamonu University drew attention with 648 projects, ranking ninth on the list and surpassing many established universities across the country. This success is considered a concrete indicator of the university's performance in the fields of research, development, and innovation.
Making evaluations on the subject, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal emphasized that the university has made systematic strides in the fields of R&D and project production in recent years and said the following:
“This high level of project support received from TÜBİTAK, one of our country's most prestigious scientific support organizations, showcases our university's scientific productivity and academic potential. This success is the collective effort of our visionary academic staff, who prioritize research, inquiry, and problem-solving.”
Our rector also stated that the infrastructure opportunities provided to students and academics, project writing training, and support for accessing national/international funds have made significant contributions to this process, and he expressed that Kastamonu University is making steady progress on its path to becoming a research university.
In his statement, our rector emphasized that this success is not an end for the university but a beginning, saying, "Our new goal is to place Kastamonu University among the top 5 universities in Turkey for TÜBİTAK project production. "In this direction, we will continue to work with determination together with all our departments," he said.
According to the YÖK report, Yıldız Technical University ranked first in the list of universities receiving the most project support from TÜBİTAK, while Kastamonu University stood out by surpassing established universities such as Marmara, Istanbul, and Ankara.
