The White Coat Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Academic Year at Kastamonu University Faculty of Medicine was held on October 3, 2025, in the Sezai Karakoç Hall of the Central Library with high participation.

The 144 medical students who began their education this year took their first steps into the medical profession by donning white coats at the ceremony. Academic and administrative staff, students, and families attended the program.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the reading of the Turkish National Anthem. Following the introduction video of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Avcı delivered the opening speech, stating that he had begun his new role and using the following words:

"We aim to provide our students with the best education through our 85 academic staff members. In society, medical doctors are considered individuals who can make decisions and distinguish right from wrong.Our main job is to be able to listen to people and find solutions to their problems. When you become a solution to people's problems, you will see that sharing their happiness will bring you great joy as well.My door is always open to our students. Medicine is a profession that requires lifelong reading and research. Medicine is a profession that requires lifelong reading and research. In this process, it is also of great importance for our families to support our students."

Following his speech, Prof. Dr. Avcı invited Yiğit Karamusaoğlu, who was admitted to the Faculty of Medicine with the highest score, and his family to the stage and presented him with a gift. Following the award ceremony, Yiğit Karamusaoğlu took the floor and spoke about the importance of the white coat, stating, "From the first day at our faculty, we were met with the care, sincerity, and smiles of our esteemed professors." We didn't feel like strangers at all. It was also a source of pride to be addressed as 'doctor ma'am' or 'doctor sir.' As students of Kastamonu University Faculty of Medicine, we promise to work with all our might to be worthy Turkish doctors who live up to the trust expressed in Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words, "Entrust me to Turkish doctors," and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this meaningful ceremony."

Following the speeches, the students put on their white coats with the support of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Avcı, Vice Dean Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Murat Ali Çiçekler, and faculty members. The ceremony continued with the students reciting the White Coat Oath together, accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Uğur Akpulat, a faculty member in the Department of Medical Biology.

During the ceremony, which was filled with emotional moments, students and their families shared the pride and excitement of taking their first steps into their chosen profession.
