The Turkish Language Teaching program of the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education and the Preschool Teaching program of the Department of Primary Education at Kastamonu University Faculty of Education were accredited for 3+2 years each by the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD) for meeting the quality standards set in education.
The aforementioned accreditation was obtained following comprehensive evaluations conducted in accordance with fundamental indicators, including the interdisciplinary structure of teacher education, the quality of the academic staff, student success, and the professional adaptation level of graduates. With this development, the educational quality of the relevant undergraduate programs has been certified at both national and international levels.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar, stated that accreditation is important for certifying the quality of education provided to students and expressed that it will also contribute to the career processes of graduates in the field of education.
Thanking all academic and administrative staff, students, and graduates who contributed to the accreditation process, as well as the EPDAD officials and the EPDAD evaluation team, Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar also expressed his gratitude to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, for his support throughout the process.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his evaluation regarding accreditation, stated that quality assurance is adopted as a fundamental approach in the educational activities carried out at our University, and expressed that the accreditation of the Turkish Language Teaching and Preschool Teaching undergraduate programs by EPDAD is a concrete result of the efforts pursued in this direction.
He stated that programs that meet the established standards reflect the dedicated work of the academic staff and the efforts of the students.
Our Rector emphasized that accreditation processes are not limited to documentation but also serve as a quality assurance mechanism that supports the regular evaluation and improvement of educational activities.
In this context, our Rector expressed gratitude to the President of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the YÖK members for their support in promoting quality-focused efforts, as well as to the President of the Higher Education Quality Board, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, and the board members. He also thanked all academic and administrative staff and students who contributed to the accreditation process.
