The Culinary Arts Program within the Daday Nafi and Ümit Çeri Vocational School of Kastamonu University has been accredited by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK).
Upon completion of the evaluation conducted by TURAK, the program was awarded "Conditional Accreditation," valid from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2027. As part of the process, the program's curriculum, academic staff, and practical opportunities were examined against the established criteria.
With the accreditation decision, the educational approach and continuous improvement goals of the Culinary Program at the Daday Nafi and Ümit Çeri Vocational School have been formalized. This accreditation, valid for 2 years, is considered part of the program's development process.
TURAK accreditation demonstrates that the education students receive aligns with industry expectations and aims to support the national and international recognition of their diplomas after graduation.
Commenting on the matter, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, thanked all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this process. Our Rector, recalling the successes previously achieved by the Culinary Arts Program at international festivals, stated that quality-focused efforts will be continued with determination in line with the goal of training qualified human resources in the field of gastronomy.
Highlighting recent initiatives to disseminate quality-focused studies across our university, our Rector expressed gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the Council members for their support during this process. He also extended his thanks to the President of the Higher Education Quality Board, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, and the board members for their contributions to the development of a quality culture in higher education.
