Kastamonu University continues to contribute to Kastamonu's scientific production and innovation capacity with the patents, utility models, and design registrations it has achieved by 2025. Prioritizing the transformation of academic knowledge into tangible outputs, our University plays an active role in developing an innovation ecosystem that supports regional development.  

According to the 2025 data, our University has obtained 9 patents, 4 utility models, and 18 design registrations. In the same period, a total of 30 patent applications, including 8 international ones, 4 utility model applications, and 16 design applications, were submitted.  

The 34 registered geographical indications found throughout the city stand out as an important indicator for the preservation of local values and their economic recognition.  

When examining only the data from 2025, it is seen that 197 trademarks, 33 patents, 14 utility models, and 331 design applications were registered in Kastamonu, for a total of 459 industrial property rights.  

The application and registration performance of our university within this table is among the elements that directly contribute to the province's total industrial property production capacity. Our university continues to contribute to regional development by combining its scientific knowledge with technology and entrepreneurship-focused processes.  

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated in his evaluation of the matter that the data our University has presented in the field of industrial property is an important indicator of the transfer of academic knowledge into practice. Our Rector, stating that they place importance on research, development, and innovation-focused studies, emphasized that the application and registration results obtained contribute to both our University's production capacity and the development of Kastamonu.
