Kastamonu University placed second in Türkiye in the women's teams category at the Ünilig Table Tennis Championship, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF).
Between April 14-17, 2026, the championship hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University featured 337 athletes, including 199 men and 138 women, from 63 universities across Türkiye. In the organization held under the coordination of TÜSF, athletes competed in the individual men's, individual women's, team men's, and team women's categories.
Our university's women's table tennis team, consisting of Ekin Burak, Sıla Günteki, Beyzanur Korkmazer, and Rümeysa İlci, secured a podium finish by finishing runner-up in Türkiye. In the championship, Nişantaşı University took first place, while Gazi University finished third.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his evaluation of the achieved rank, stated that our students' performance in sports holds an important place in our University's development vision.
Our Rector noted that it is gratifying for our students to achieve consistent success not only in their academic studies but also in sports, emphasizing that these achievements reflect our University's multifaceted development approach. He congratulated our women's team, which achieved second place in Turkey at the Ünilig Table Tennis Championship, and the coaches who contributed.
