In 2025, a total of 1,036 animals of various species were examined and treated at the Animal Hospital of Kastamonu University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. 280 of these patients underwent various surgeries, and veterinary services in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology were provided to animal owners.
İn 2025, 420 patients were admitted to the Department of Surgery, 117 to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1 to the Department of Reproduction and Artificial Insemination, and 498 to the Department of Internal Medicine. According to hospital records, the highest number of applications were for cats with 564, followed by dogs with 241 and cattle with 148. In addition, 40 sheep, 24 poultry, 1 goat, and 18 different animal species were treated.
595 Patients in the First Six Months of 2026
Between January 1st and July 1st, 2026, a total of 595 patients were admitted to the Animal Hospital. Of these, 246 were treated in the Surgery Department, 68 in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and 281 in the Internal Medicine Department. Approximately 190 animals underwent various surgeries during this period.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital contributes to the professional education of students in addition to the services it provides in the field of animal health. Expressing that the Animal Hospital, which allows students to improve their theoretical knowledge in practical applications, is an integral part of the faculty's educational activities, our Rector said that the services needed in the field of animal health will continue to be offered within our University.
Our Rector stated that the Animal Hospital provides services to restore the health of animals through the dedicated efforts of the academic and administrative staff, and expressed that the hospital will continue to serve both our city and the region.
