Kastamonu University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Animal Hospital attracted attention with its performance in the first five months of 2025. Opening its doors to a total of 334 animals in the January-May period, the hospital supported regional livestock farming.
Operating under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Animal Hospital worked at a busy pace, not only with cases from Kastamonu but also from surrounding provinces. The highest number of applications, with 178 patients, was made to the internal medicine department, followed by the surgery department with 119 cases and the obstetrics-gynecology department with 54 applications.
Among the most treated species in the hospital were 178 cats and 79 dogs. In rural areas, breeders frequently applied to the hospital with 67 cattle. Equipped with all the facilities of modern veterinary medicine, the hospital makes a difference not only with its treatment services but also with its services in accordance with the principles of preventive medicine and animal welfare.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Animal Hospital continues to be an exemplary model with its expert academic staff, patient tracking systems, and structure that prioritizes ethical values.
In the satisfaction survey conducted with citizens benefiting from the hospital, 77% of the participants rated the service with 10 points, while 14% gave it 9 points. 2.3% gave 8 points, and 5.7% provided 7 points.
"The number of patients we reached in the first five months is the most concrete indicator of the trust the public has in our hospital," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarık Şafak, Chief Physician of the Animal Hospital, who also emphasized that the survey results were satisfying for them, saying, "The high level of satisfaction shown by our citizens who benefit from the services of our hospital and the results obtained motivate us."
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his evaluation, stated, "We are pleased with the contributions of our Animal Hospital to regional livestock and pet health." Our hospital has become an important center for both health services and educational activities, thanks to the dedicated work of our competent academic staff. "We believe that this success will continue to grow in the upcoming period," he stated.
The animal hospital has become a center for regional veterinary services not only due to its clinical successes but also because of its educational activities. In the upcoming periods, it aims to reach more animals.
