Kastamonu University continues to grow and develop with the new departments and programs it has opened. Approval has been granted to our University by the Council of Higher Education Presidency for the associate and undergraduate programs to be opened in the 2025-2026 academic year.
In line with the approval given by YÖK, the Digital Agriculture Technologies Program, opened under the Department of Plant and Animal Production at the Devrekani The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye Vocational School has been put into operation. The program aims to provide the sector with technical personnel who possess the knowledge and skills required by the era, in line with the increasing importance of digitalization in the field of agriculture.
Another new program that will contribute to our university's educational activities is the Water and Waste Management Technician Program, which has been launched at the Abana Sabahat Mesut Yılmaz Vocational School. Launched under the Department of Water and Waste Management, this program aims to train expert technical personnel in the fields of sustainable use of water resources, waste management, and environmental protection. Additionally, the Department of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Management, established within the Faculty of Forestry, aims to contribute to the training of individuals specialized in the conservation of ecosystem services, sustainable management of biodiversity, and the development of nature-based solution approaches.
Our university continues to expand its range of educational offerings.
Our university continued to expand its educational offerings with new programs launched in 2025. In this context, the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Program under the Electronics and Automation Department and the Artificial Intelligence Operator Program under the Computer Technologies Department were opened at Tosya Vocational School. Additionally, the Computer Programming Program at Çatalzeytin Vocational School and the Unmanned Vehicle Technology Program at Taşköprü Vocational School also stood out among the other programs with their focus on applied education.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, who evaluated the newly opened programs, emphasized that our University's educational activities are being developed in a planned and stable manner, in line with the region's and the times' needs, and stated that these efforts play a role in advancing both our University and the region to higher levels.
Our Rector also emphasized the importance of qualitative development alongside quantitative growth in educational activities, stating that efforts will be steadfastly continued to ensure our students receive a higher quality education.
