Associate Professor Dr. Nesrin İçli, a faculty member of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Kastamonu University Faculty of Health Sciences, was elected as a member of the Infectious Diseases Commission operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The scientific committees established under the "Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law" and the "Regulation on the Working Procedures and Principles of Risk Assessment Committees and Commissions" conduct risk assessments using an independent, impartial, and transparent approach.
In this context, the Contaminants Commission addresses risks arising from mycotoxins, heavy metals, and other chemical substances that may occur during food processing, using scientific methods. The Commission analyzes the effects of certain contaminants on human health through food consumption; if necessary, it shares scientific opinions and recommendations on maximum limits to support legislative work.
The membership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin İçli's participation in the commission is significant, as it contributes to national decision-making processes through the academic expertise of our University's food safety field.
