Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nusret Özalp, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Engineering at Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, has been appointed as a researcher in the "Digital Twin-Based Intelligent Attack Detection and Defense System 'SİBER İKİZ" project, which is conducted under the "Development of Next Generation Artificial Intelligence Methods - SAGA" call supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries.
The "SİBER İKİZ" Project aims to develop an anomaly detection model based on artificial intelligence, supported by digital twin technology. Additionally, the project aims to use reinforcement learning-based network defense algorithms to create a more resilient cybersecurity infrastructure against adversarial attacks.
Within the scope of the project, the behaviors of real military network systems will be modeled with high accuracy, enabling the detection of anomalies that may occur during data flow. At the same time, multi-layered efforts will be carried out to identify and neutralize adversarial attacks against AI-based systems.
Kastamonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal congratulated Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nusret Özalp for being part of the research team of the project, stating, "It is gratifying that our university's scientific accumulation contributes to nationally conducted studies." I wish our professor success in their work. He stated, "We believe that the SİBER İKİZ Project will contribute to our country's cybersecurity."
The SİBER İKİZ Project is expected to contribute to our country's military network security. We congratulate Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nusret Özalp on this assignment and wish the project to be beneficial for our country.
