Within the scope of the "Vocational Schools Education Cooperation Protocol" signed between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), a University Protocol Executive Meeting was held in the Rectorate Meeting Hall.
The meeting was attended by our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, the Chairman of the Board of the Kastamonu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KATSO), Oğuz Fındıkoğlu, representatives from vocational schools, and representatives from the chambers/exchanges that were matched.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan provided participants with information about the program's purpose, scope, and implementation process, which is being carried out within the framework of YÖK–TOBB cooperation.
Stating that the program is an important step toward increasing interaction between vocational colleges and the business world, Prof. Dr. Atalan said that the main goal of this collaboration is to strengthen the bond between academia and industry, ensuring that graduate students are well-equipped to enter the business world.
A presentation on protocol was given during the meeting. Following the presentation, representatives from Kastamonu MYO, Taşköprü MYO, İnebolu MYO, Tosya MYO, and Araç Rafet Vergili MYO, which were paired with chambers of commerce and industry, shared detailed information about the work they had carried out within the scope of the protocol. During the rest of the meeting, current studies, ongoing activities, and plans for the upcoming period were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Oğuz Fındıkoğlu, Chairman of the KATSO Board of Directors, addressed the industry's need for qualified labor and highlighted the importance of university-industry cooperation in local development.
Emphasizing the necessity of maintaining cooperation between universities and the business world, Fındıkoğlu stated that, as KATSO, they are ready to provide all kinds of support for studies related to vocational colleges.
