An information and consultation meeting on "3+1 Vocational Training in Business" was held to enhance and promote the quality of applied vocational education in the vocational schools (MYO) within Kastamonu University.
The meeting held on July 4, 2025, was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, as well as the directors, deputy directors, and representatives of the Vocational School of Higher Education.

In the meeting, participants shared the achievements of the "3+1" model, currently implemented in some vocational schools, and discussed the roadmap for implementing this model in all vocational schools. The meeting evaluated the contributions of this system, which foresees students receiving practical training in businesses, to combine theoretical knowledge with the field and increase employment opportunities after graduation.
As part of the meeting, a presentation was also given by Instructor Şerife Kıbrıs from the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program at Araç Vocational School. The presentation detailed the current practice, the process workflow, and the accomplishments made.
Collaborations with businesses, the effectiveness of internship processes, the development of practices to enhance students' professional competencies, and proposals for disseminating the model were among the other agenda items of the meeting.
Our vice rectors emphasized the University's commitment to strengthening vocational education, stating that implementing the "3+1" model in all vocational schools would support students in gaining field experience before graduation and ensure they enter the labor market as more prepared individuals.
