A special program was organized by Kastamonu University Faculty of Education on the occasion of November 24th, Teachers' Day. The program, organized with the enthusiastic participation of academics, students, and guests, commenced after a moment of silence and the playing of the national anthem.
In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kaçar, emphasized in his address that the teaching profession is the most fundamental force in building the future of society. Prof.Dr. Kaçar stated that he remembered with mercy all teachers who had passed away, especially Chief Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and congratulated all teachers currently in service, retired teachers, and teacher candidates on their day.
In his speech, Prof.Dr. Kaçar mentioned the absence of a professional association for teachers that could provide professional solidarity. He therefore stated that November 24th is a special day when teachers meet with society, are remembered, and their value is strongly felt. Stating that today should be celebrated with enthusiasm, Prof.Dr. Kaçar invited teacher candidates to share this meaning with their social circles.
Stating that the Faculty of Education is celebrating Teachers' Day with a week-long series of events, Prof. Dr. Kaçar mentioned that various activities will be organized throughout the week, including professional experience sharing with experienced teachers, student community introduction stands, poster presentations of projects prepared within the scope of the Community Service Applications course, and a conference by a teacher with the title of "master teacher" in their field.
Stating that teaching is a "profession of love," Prof.Dr.Kaçar said that teacher candidates should invest not only in academic success but also in their personal development. He offered advice on how they could become individuals who produce social responsibility projects, are entrepreneurial, and contribute to society through the opportunities provided by the university.
Following the opening speech, the program continued with a video presentation that reflected the value and impact of the teaching profession. The screening was watched with interest by the participants.
In the academic section of the event, Associate Professor Dr. Burcu Öztürk, a faculty member from the Faculty of Education, addressed the participants with her conference titled "Building Bridges from Past to Future: The Teacher Through the Window of Literature." Öztürk gave a comprehensive presentation highlighting the historical and cultural aspects of teaching.
Following the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Öztürk was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Dean Professor Dr. Ahmet Kaçar.
