Our students, who successfully represented our university in the Inter-University Cooking Competition organized by the Faculty of Tourism at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, with participation from Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students from 24 universities, visited our Rector, Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his office on May 15, 2026.
The visit was attended by the Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Çalışkan, advisor, Instructor. Muhammed Furkan Bilgin, and our students who participated in the competition, Erdem Ağaçdan, Müge Kuzlukluoğlu, and Ozan Erdoğan, who won first place in the individual main course category.
Our student Ozan Erdoğan, who was awarded first place in the Inter-University Individual Main Course Competition, organized under the theme "Anatolia's Heritage on My Table," shared details on the competition process and preparation stages. In the interview, our students stated that the achieved rank was an important experience for them.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, congratulated our students and the advising academician, stating that the achieved success is an important reflection of our University's applied education approach and academic accumulation. He also stated that this success is encouraging for students studying in the field of gastronomy.
The visit ended with a commemorative photo taken in memory of the day.
