The Unilig Volleyball Group Qualifiers, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF) and hosted by Kastamonu University, successfully concluded.
In the event, the women's and men's volleyball teams from our university, as well as those from Bartın University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Ondokuz Mayıs University, Bülent Ecevit University, and Karabük University, competed. The tournament, featuring a total of 11 teams, provided exciting matches for the spectators.
As part of the group stage, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, also watched the closely contested match between our university and Bartın University in the men's category from the stands. Our university's Men's Volleyball Team finished the group stage in first place, leaving the court victorious with their impressive performance.
The tournament's trophy and medal ceremony was held at our university's Ay Yıldız Sports and Life Center. The ceremony was attended by our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan and Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Baydil, the Head of the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports (SKS), Mehmet Sena Aygül, academics, athletes, and a large number of spectators.
The prizes for the winning teams were presented by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan and Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Baydil, Head of the SKS Department Mehmet Sena Aygül, and TÜSF Representative Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolga Eski, and Facility Manager Fırat Coşkun.
In the women's category, our university finished the tournament, which was fiercely contested, in third place, securing a podium finish. Ondokuz Mayıs University won first place in the category, followed by Karabük University in second place.
In the men's category, our university, leveraging its home advantage, achieved first place with superior performance. Ondokuz Mayıs University came in second, and Karabük University came in third.
The ceremony concluded with an enthusiastic group photo shoot where the teams posed for the cameras with their trophies.
