Students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Kastamonu University Faculty of Tourism and the Culinary Arts Program at Daday Vocational School returned successfully from the 6th International Gastronomy and Culinary Stars Meeting (GastroAntalya) held this year in Antalya.
Our students won a total of 7 gold, 9 silver, 5 bronze, and 1 Merit medal in the competition with their performance.
Our team, consisting of 12 students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the Faculty of Tourism, won 4 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals. The gold medalists were Cemile Nur Arbağ, Yusuf Emre Altuntaş, Tarık Çam, and Esra Çukurçayır. The silver medalists were Şahin Sarpkaya, Ata Saim Doğan, Simanur Bahar, Duygu Kurtoğlu, Umut Hasan Gün, and Kübra Yegül, while Bahadır Yiğit Öz and Samet Akbaş won bronze medals.
Students from the Daday Vocational School's Culinary Arts Program, who participated in the competition as a team of 10, won three gold, three silver, three bronze, and one merit medal. The gold medalists were İbrahim Gülsoy, Mehmet Büyükbayram, and Gamze Çelik. Deniz Seçilir, Zeynep Tiryaki, and Hayrünnisa Kalay won silver medals, while Edanur Akkaş, Esmanur Altaş, and Şevval Elver won bronze medals. Yusuf Engin Erkul, on the other hand, won a Merit medal.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “I congratulate all our students who successfully represented our university on national and international platforms. This success is not only the result of individual effort, but also of academic accumulation, disciplined study, and dedicated education. I would like to thank our valuable advisor professors who prepared our students for the competitions, and all our academic staff who worked hard.
