The Kastamonu University Senate Meeting was held under the chairmanship of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal. The meeting was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, and Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, along with the senate members.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, our Rector made general evaluations regarding the new academic term.
Stating that quality assurance, increasing research and development activities, student satisfaction, digitalization, and sustainability are among the priority areas of work in the new term, our Rector expressed that our University will continue to progress relentlessly in this direction.
Our Rector, who stated that the recently established Institute of Graduate Education will bring a more coordinated and holistic structure to master's and doctoral programs, indicated that the institute aims to enhance the quality of graduate education processes and to more effectively guide research activities.
Following the opening speech, an informative presentation on the "Micro Competency Directive," which is in the draft stage, was given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sinem Şenferah, the Chair of the Quality Coordination Education and Training Commission, during the continuation of the meeting.
At the meeting, a presentation on our university's R&D activities over the past six months was given by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük. In the presentation where data on scientific publications, projects, and collaborations were shared, attention was drawn to developments in the R&D field. Then, information was provided about the projects that were decided to be supported by the Social Responsibility Office for the year 2025.
In the final section of the presentation, the works to be carried out within the framework of the "Goals and Activity Plan" and the "YÖK 2030 Vision" were evaluated.
After discussing the agenda items, the meeting concluded.
