The University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report – 2025, prepared by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), has been published. According to the indicators in the report, Kastamonu University ranked among the top 20 universities nationwide in 12 different fields and achieved the 2nd position among 74 state universities established after 2000. In this ranking, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa took the top spot.
At the Top in the Black Sea Region
According to the report, our university ranked 1st among state universities established after 2000 in the Black Sea Region, and stood out as the university with the most indicators in the top 20 among regional universities.
12 Indicators in the Top 20 in Türkiye
In the report evaluated by YÖK under the headings of education and teaching, research and development, internationalization, sustainability, and community service and social responsibility, our University ranked among the top 20 universities in Türkiye across 12 different indicators, including the number of industrial/sectoral projects undertaken by students, the number of students participating in Technopark/TTO projects, the number of awards received in competitions such as TEKNOFEST–TÜBİTAK–TÜBA, the number of national and international projects and support provided by TÜBİTAK, national R&D projects conducted jointly with industry, the number of faculty members coming within the scope of international exchange programs, social responsibility projects, Barrier-Free University Awards, activities for disadvantaged groups, and the accessibility inventory.
Success of Social Responsibility Projects and Accessible University
Our university ranked 10th in Türkiye for the number of social responsibility projects carried out by students and 16th for the number of projects carried out by the university. Türkiye ranked 3rd with 44 awards in the Barrier-Free University Awards indicator.
At Top 10 in Türkiye for R&D and TÜBİTAK Support
Our university, which has garnered attention with its studies focusing on industry-university cooperation in the field of research and development, ranked 9th in Türkiye in the number of national R&D projects carried out in collaboration with industry. In terms of the number of national and international projects and support provided by TÜBİTAK, it ranked 7th nationwide with 465 supports.
In his evaluation of the YÖK Monitoring and Evaluation Report, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, expressed his satisfaction that our University is the second-best among state universities established after 2000 in Türkiye and the first in the Black Sea Region.
Our Rector expressed his gratitude to our students, faculty, and administrative staff who contributed to this achievement, stating that the work carried out in the fields of education and training, research and development, community service, and internationalization will be continued with determination, in line with the report's indicators.
