The ErasmusDays events organized by the Erasmus Coordination Office of Kastamonu University began with an information meeting held on October 14, 2025, at the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Cultural Center. Following the meeting, a large number of students participated in the ongoing events.
At events organized to increase the recognition of the Erasmus+ Program, ensure the visibility of projects within the program, and encourage potential participants to benefit from Erasmus+, information sessions were held for students and academic staff.
As part of the event, Dr. Kemal Başçı, the Higher Education Coordinator of the Turkish National Agency, met with the students to provide information about the Erasmus+ program. In his speech, Dr. Başçı shared statistical data such as the historical development, structure, budget allocated to our country by the European Union, and the number of participants in the Erasmus+ program. Noting that the program is a significant turning point in the lives of many students, Başçı stated that Erasmus+ will continue with more comprehensive and effective activities in the coming years. Additionally, he emphasized that these opportunities are not only open to students but also to academic and administrative staff, stating that students can participate in suitable Erasmus+ programs until the age of 30. Following his speech, a question-and-answer session was held, which was met with great interest from our students.
Following the opening program, the opening ribbon for the events was cut at a ceremony held at Beyribey Guest House by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Dr. Kemal Başçı, and the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator. Later, the university administrators visited the booths set up by the Erasmus Coordination Office, the Sarıkonak Women's Cooperative, and various student clubs to gather information and sample the refreshments. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, along with the Vice Rectors and Dr. Kemal Başçı, visited the booths and chatted with the students.
Emphasizing that Erasmus exchange programs provide significant academic and social gains for students, our Rector stated, "We encourage both our students and our academic and administrative staff to participate in Erasmus activities" he used the expressions.
In the afternoon session of the event, chicken and rice were served to the students as part of #ErasmusDays.
