Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, chaired the Kastamonu University Senate Meeting in the Senate Meeting Hall. The meeting was attended by our vice rectors, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaymakcı, and the Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Demirbaş, along with the senate members.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, noted that the spring term was coming to an end and referred to the activities carried out throughout the term across our University. Emphasizing that the quality-focused efforts have made significant contributions to the institutional development of our University, our Rector stated that planned and intensive work has been carried out in the fields of research, education, teaching, social contribution, and internationalization. Our Rector, who stated that efforts to increase the visibility of our university on national and international platforms are ongoing, thanked all our academic and administrative staff who have worked selflessly during this process for their efforts. He noted that quality-focused efforts would continue to increase in the new academic year.
After the opening speech, our university's Coordinator for Excellence in Education, Prof. Dr. Berat Ahi, presented the work within the Coordinator's office to the senate members. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Ahi shared information about the main areas of activity, such as practices aimed at improving quality in education, academic advising processes, assessment and evaluation systems, and student satisfaction surveys. During the meeting, our university's press counselor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selver Mertoğlu shared with the senate members the regulations made within the newly prepared Office of the Press and Public Press Counselor Regulation framework and the promotional and communication activities carried out by the Counsellor. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mertoğlu provided information about the activities carried out on strengthening internal and external communication, media relations, social media management, and visual identity studies.
Then, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, provided information about our University's position in international rankings by the criteria of global indices in the field of higher education, the studies conducted in this context, and future strategies.
