As part of our university's 20th anniversary celebrations, the "Foreign Language Festival," organized by the School of Foreign Languages at Kastamonu University, was held on campus with high participation. “Languages are Different, Friendship is Common!” With the motto "Different Languages, Common Friendship," the event brought together cultures and languages from around the world.
The opening of the festival, which started on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 14:00 in the Foreign Languages School building, will be attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, and Deputy Secretary General. Assoc. Prof. Dr. With Dr. İbrahim Demirbaş and the General Coordinator of External Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu, along with our academic staff and many students, participated.
Due to the high participation of our university's administration, academic staff, and students, the festival program was carried out in two phases.
After the opening, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, visited the cultural booths from different countries prepared by our students. Various information was provided to visitors at the stands, including the countries’ histories, geographies, traditional clothing, and cultural elements. Our students had the opportunity to practice the foreign languages they have learned, while the participants had the chance to get to know different cultures.
After the cultural presentations, a gastronomy event was held during the festival. At stalls featuring traditional dishes and delicacies from different cultures, participants could sample a variety of flavors from around the world.
The festival, which highlighted the themes of communication, culture, and diversity, concluded after a group photo session.
