Kastamonu University continues to reap the rewards of its efforts to ensure the quality of vocational and technical education.
As a result of the evaluations conducted by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK), 10 programs within our university's Tosya Vocational School, Taşköprü Vocational School, Cide Rıfat Ilgaz Vocational School, and Kastamonu Vocational School were awarded full and conditional accreditation.
During the accreditation process conducted by MEDEK, the educational structure of the programs, as well as academic and administrative human resources, physical and technological infrastructure, measurement and evaluation processes, and the level of alignment with industry standards, were evaluated in a multidimensional manner. As a result of the examinations, seven programs within the Vocational Schools were certified with "Full Accreditation" status and three programs with "Conditional Accreditation" status.
The total number of accredited programs reached 24
With the latest evaluations, the number of accredited programs within our university has increased to 24, while quality-focused studies are being carried out with determination.
In this context, the latest developments are as follows: The Electric, Computer Programming, Electronic Technology, Mechatronics, Machine, and Business Management programs at Kastamonu Vocational School received full accreditation; the Printing and Publishing Technologies Program, the Electric Program at Tosya Vocational School, and the First and Emergency Aid Program at Taşköprü Vocational School were granted conditional accreditation. Additionally, the Computer Programming Program at Cide Rıfat Ilgaz Vocational School was among the programs that received full accreditation.
Commenting on the matter, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that the accreditations obtained are a concrete demonstration of our University's quality-focused education approach.
Our Rector stated, "With MEDEK accreditation, we have once again documented that the educational activities carried out in our vocational colleges are in compliance with national quality standards. We consider vocational training to be a crucial area that directly enhances the employability of our students. "
Noting that the accreditation process is not just a document but also a quality assurance mechanism based on continuous improvement, our Rector stated, "We will resolutely continue our improvement efforts within the scope of our programs that have received conditional accreditation. We aim for these processes to contribute to the accreditation goals of our vocational college programs."
Our Rector highlighted the recent initiatives implemented at our University to promote quality-focused studies and expressed gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Council for their support during this process. Our Rector also extended his thanks to the President of the Higher Education Quality Board, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, and the board members, who contributed to the dissemination of a culture of quality in higher education.
