The Rector of Sinop University, Prof. Dr. Şakir Taşdemir, visited our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his office on July 30, 2025.
During the visit, topics such as academic collaborations, joint projects, and student exchange programs between the two universities were discussed. During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on collaborations between universities that would support regional development and the joint projects that could be carried out.
Additionally, a software collaboration protocol was signed between the two universities as part of the visit. The signed protocol transferred the usage rights of the Quality Data Management System (KVYS) software, developed by Kastamonu University, to Sinop University. The KVYS software, developed entirely by the Kastamonu University Information Processing Department, will ensure that quality processes are carried out more effectively and efficiently.
With a contract that includes the transfer of the software's source codes for free, Sinop University aims to strengthen its institutional capacity by bringing its internal quality management to the digital environment. Under the contract, all intellectual property rights of the software will continue to belong to Kastamonu University.
Sinop University Rector Prof. Dr. Şakir Taşdemir expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration and emphasized the contributions the software protocol would make to Sinop University. Additionally, he thanked our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, for the interest and hospitality shown to them.

After the protocol signing ceremony, the administrators of both universities visited Kastamonu Technopolis and received information about the projects and entrepreneurial activities being carried out there. The visit, where the technology-based production and collaboration opportunities offered by the Technopolis were discussed, was considered an important step for potential future joint projects between the two universities.
