Giresun University Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal in his office on February 4, 2026.
During the visit, the two universities discussed academic collaborations, joint projects, and student exchange programs. The meeting also included an assessment of joint studies that universities could conduct to advance regional development.
As part of the visit, a software cooperation protocol was signed between the two universities. Upon signing the protocol, the use rights for the Quality Data Management System (KVYS) software developed by our University were transferred to Giresun University. The KVYS software, developed entirely by our university's Information Technology Department, aims to improve the effective and efficient execution of quality processes.
Thanks to the software, which is being transferred free of charge along with its source code, Giresun University will be able to move its quality management processes to a digital environment. Under the protocol, all intellectual property rights to the software will remain with our University.
Giresun University Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, highlighting the contributions the software protocol would bring to their university. Prof. Dr. Can expressed his hope that the cooperation process would continue in different areas in the coming period and thanked our Rector for their hospitality.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, emphasized the importance of academic solidarity among universities, noting that collaborations based on knowledge and experience sharing have yielded valuable results in higher education. He thanked Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can for their kind visit.
Following the signing ceremony, both rectors expressed their hopes for a fruitful collaboration and shared their mutual good wishes. The visit concluded with a group photo featuring a delegation from both universities.
