A cooperation protocol was signed between Kastamonu University and the Turkish Badminton Federation on June 16, 2025. The protocol aims to support the academic and sporting development of badminton and contribute to the sport through joint projects.
The protocol was signed by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, and the President of the Turkish Badminton Federation, Ercan Yıldız. With the agreement, our University and the federation will carry out joint activities aimed at coach and athlete training, athletic performance tests, scientific research, and the promotion of badminton.
Within the framework of the signed protocol, our University will offer badminton coaching training and elective courses, and will include badminton in student and staff tournaments. The Federation will provide material support, participate in the students' practical classes, and support joint scientific publications.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated in his speech during the signing ceremony that they prioritize contributing to our country not only academically but also in the field of sports through the Faculty of Sports Sciences. He emphasized that this protocol would both support the practical education of students and promote the development of badminton in the region.
Our Rector also stated, "This collaboration with the Turkish Badminton Federation will be carried out across a wide range, from scientific studies to material support." He concluded his remarks by saying, "With this collaboration, our University will take on a more active and productive role in the field of sports."
The president of the Turkish Badminton Federation, Ercan Yıldız, in his speech, stated that the federation places great importance on the widespread adoption of badminton across the country, saying, "With this protocol we signed with Kastamonu University, we will both contribute to the education of young athletes and strengthen the processes of training coaches."
At the same time, we aim to benefit from the contributions that scientific research and sports science will provide to the badminton branch. He stated, "With this collaboration, both the university and the federation will achieve significant gains."
